Oh Brother Where Art Thou: Day 4 & 5

An exciting Friday night here in the Rose City. I'm watching the Olympics with Meg snoozing on the couch beside me. She is a lot like a cat. Able to curl up an take a nap in almost any spot. She also coughs up a lot of hairballs.
Anyway...I will closeout the final days of Dave's trip up here. We headed out in the morning to dine on donuts from Voodoo Donuts and coffee from Crema...both of which have been featured on PRI's "Splended Table". You can listen to the splendid table feature here and here. We then headed into the Columbia River Gorge for some waterfall action.

One of the things i wanted to do most with Dave was to take him to Ground Kontrol, which is an Old Skool video game arcade located in old town neighborhood. Why would I do this? Well, it turns out Ground Kontrol has Dr. Who pinball! Dave and I wasted a fair bit of our allowance on this when it was in the 7-11 down the street from our Salt Lake City home. It is no wonder I was largely single throughout my adolescence...not only did I play video games, but I played games based on a uber-geeky British Sci-Fi TV series.

For our final meal of Dave's trip we went to our favorite Portland restaurant: Lovely Hula Hands. Along with Pok Pok, Lovely Hula Hands is also touted as one of the best Portland Restaurants. Every time we've been here (our 3rd time now), the food has been AMAZING. The menu is always changing based on what is in season and it is cooked to utter perfection.

The 5th day was not much of a day...I went back to work, and Dave and Ali caught the train to the airport.
