Happy Fathers Day!
I realize that most of you reading this blog (all 15 of you) are neither Meg's father nor my father., but in honor of our dad's we finished the bathroom today...sort of. From now on whenever I use the bathroom, I will be thinking of dear dad. I don't know if this is necessarily an honor or not.
So our bathroom is done. (applause please) Well...almost done...actually not really. We still have the shower to finish. But we are definitely done for a while. We spent the past 2 weeks scraping and painting the woodwork, installing the laundry chute, and putting new hinges on the doors and cabinets. Thank goodness it looks good. After 6 months of off and on work, it had better look nice.
We still have to gut the shower (the only real necessity of this entire remodel) and finish the tile around the shower archway. We also have to bring in a plasterer to fix the space between the wall and the tile. Finally, we have to paint the aqua walls.
The obviously question now is when are we going to be done, done. Well, that depends on how quickly we make progress on the upstairs. We still need to figure out how we are going to reconfigure the upstairs bathroom (which is what is gating the downstairs shower). Once we figure the upstairs layout we can open up the downstairs shower and reconfigure the plumbing as required for the upstairs.
So we should be done sometime around 2010.
I've republished our other posts so you can see how far we have come.
