It took about 6 hours to gut the 1/2" think tile set in 1" of mortar and another 6 to set down the backerboard...with only a few minor glitches. In a few months we'll probably even laugh about them. Next week, we start setting tile. More fascinating photos to come!

I had a house like this and did some of the same thimgs. It'll be the best time you guys ever had, have fun with it. It looks like you know what you're doing. BTW - Keep the mirror sliver - its so unique. I always felt the rule was update, but leave the house's personality intact.
